Velez Malaga sits inside the peaceful valley of River Velez, filled with luscious gardens and tropical fruit trees. This area is famous for its agriculture, producing strawberries, sugar cane, olives and grapes. The world famous sweet Malaga Wines are made with the unique Muscatel Grape which is produced in Velez.
There are some beautiful churches within the town, these particularly appeal to those who have an interest in religion and history. The origins of the area go all the way back to the Phoenicians and Carthaginians.
