Malaga
Malaga is the capital of the Costa del Sol, the port city has a population of approximately 560,000 and is located to the east of Marbella. The city was once considered to be the poor cousin of Seville but now stands out as one of Spain’s most popular tourist cities.
The climate is comfortably warm - averaging 19 °C, the Mediterranean breeze cools the air making it more pleasant than the blistering summer heat of the inland
Malaga has a rich history but has moved on from its Moorish past to become one of Europe’s most popular tourist cities. The city is packed with cafes, restaurants, bars and shops, and the unique atmosphere offers a blend of history and modern luxury both during the day and at night.
The city hosts the areas main airport, named Pablo Ruiz Picasso Málaga International Airport in memory of the great Spanish artist. It is one of the busiest airports in Spain and is used by 16 million passengers annually.
