Comares
Comares has a population of only 1700, so you can imagine this has a small, idyllic village typical of smaller locations on the Costa del Sol. Lying within the province Ararquia it is only 35 kilometres from Malaga city and even less (25 km.) from Torre del Mar which lies on the coast, therfore you can be there in twenty minutes. It’s geographical location doesn’t make this a hard place to find as it is on a hilly outcrop on the popular Route of the Raisin.
You can expect warm temperatures here benefitting from the Mediterranean, it is known as the ‘best climate in Europe’. There are more than dozen beaches within a reasonable distance and so this whole area enjoys the benefit of being close to the coast and those ‘sun drenched’ days can be experienced here.
Unlike many places it doesn’t suffer from commercialism: there are no ‘souvenir’ shops, however you can enjoy bars and restaurants. This is a close, friendly community and you can take pleasure from exploring it’s steep winding streets where often locals will stop and spend the time of day.
