Calahonda
The area of Calahonda has been specially developed for tourism. It is only about 30 years old so provides a very modern image of a Spanish town. It is situated between Marbella and Feungirola.
There are many local golf courses which are very popular and visited by tourists from across the area. The location also boasts of its spectacular powdery beaches with sparkling clear sea water. Only a few kilometres along the road is Puetro Cobapino which is well known for being one of the most secluded and picturesque areas on the coast.
There are many cafes and restaurants, as well as fabulous shopping and entertainment facilities. Many offer opportunities to try the tradition ‘churros’, which are fried and battered dough which is usually served with a cup of thick hot chocolate.
There is an El Zoco complex which is often full of visitors and provides an entertaining evening for all tourists in the area. Opposite this complex there are also many more shops and restaurants as well as a gymnasium and fitness venue.
The town is self sufficient and provides British tourists and holidaymaker with a stunning sun and sea holiday in an atmosphere which is slightly more unpredictable than other resorts in Andalucía.
