Alhaurin de la Torre
With a population of about 28,000 Alhaurin de la Torre, is not the biggest or the smallest settlement on the Costa del Sol. Howvever its closeness to Malaga and Torremolinos ensures that it gets an abundance of visitors and deservedly so. It has an average rainfall of approximately 550 litres per square metre and an average temperature of 17.5 degrees making ideal for golfing and indeed that’s what the area is famous for.
Situated west of Malaga it nestles between the mountains and the coast, in the valley at the mouth of the River Guadalhorce. It is also famous for it’s citrus groves, subtropical fruit plantations and market gardens. It has a commendable shopping area where you will find bars and restaurants as wells as the usual supermarkets etc.
There something for everyone here the town itself being historic, you can research it’s past. So much so that every month there seems to be some festival for the visitor to enjoy and participate in. Within ten minutes you can be at the coast and a bit longer will see you shopping in a major city or at the international airport.
