Algarrobo Costa
Algarrobo Costa is a beautiful area situated just thirty kilometres from Malaga. This relaxed resort lies between Caleta and Lagos. Once a sleepy fishing village, the location is now popular with both Spanish and British tourists.
Algarrobo Costa offers the classic Costa del Sol combination of sun, sea and sand along with the beautiful, authentic, Spanish atmosphere. The area particularly appeals to families and young children. Older couples also enjoy this location due to its peaceful and tranquil surroundings.
Like many resorts along the Costa del Sol, Algarrobo Costa has the big attraction of being right on the doorstep a delightfully warm and clear ocean – the Mediterranean. There are many restaurants and bars which serve a range of modern and traditional Spanish delicacies. Menus include local dishes of paella, tortillas and chorizo. Many tourists like to try new specialities by ordering a plate of tapas, which include a variety of small bite-size dishes.
The village includes many small gift shops and there are big supermarkets not too far down the road in Malaga. The village is famous for its steep, narrow and winding streets. The little old church and iconic whitewashes houses are popular with tourists as they add to the Spanish heritage of the village. Nearby attractions include the Caves in Nerja and many local golf courses including the Baviera course.
