Spain and Costa del Sol back at the top
Spain Is Back As The Favored Holiday Destination For The Brits In 2010
As we know, many Britons shunned Spain as the preferred holiday destination and chose to travel to non-European destinations like Egypt and Turkey due to high currency exchange rate between the two currencies (Euro and the pound). However, as the economy picks up this year, Brits are back to booking holidays in Spain.
According to Fred Mawer of Daily Telegraph, more British tour operators are now willingly enticing people to holiday in hot and favoured tourist destinations as Costa del Sol and Costa Blanca. Mr. Mawer said, and we quote: "As a consequence, a Spanish holiday this summer may in fact work out less expensive than in a rival destination outside the eurozone thought of as cheaper.”
What also makes travelling to Spain so attractive is the choice of self-catering accommodation since quite a few Spanish restaurants have cut down their prices since last year and are now offering menus with discounted prices.
Furthermore, Travelsupermarket.com’s recent research has revealed that almost one-third of all Brits are bound to back their bags for at least one overseas holiday, and 21 percent will take at least three holiday breaks in 2010.
