A report in the Independent claims that it could be the perfect time to buy a home in Europe with Spain becoming an increasingly popular option for Brits looking to buy a holiday home in the sun.

The oversupply of holiday villas and apartments across Spain, particularly in popular regions such as the Costa del Sol, has caused prices to take a tumble meaning that bargain properties can be snapped up by buyers who have the cash ready to spend.

The south of Spain is also an attractive location as many Brits are familiar with the region, Stuart Law chief executive of overseas property investors Assetz believes “If someone has set their mind on a holiday home that they are not going to rent out then Spain is ideal, there is massive choice and also some very good pricing” .

The added bonus of owning a property in popular holiday destinations such as Benalmadena and Marbella within the Costa del Sol is the potential rental income.
Brits flock to the area during the summer months and luxury rental homes are in high demand, meaning that savvy owners can be confident of filling their home when they are not residing there themselves.
