Marbella set for tourism cash injection
Investment for Marbella, the Costa del Sol's holiday hotspot
The popular Costa del Sol tourist resort of Marbella is to receive an 11.5 million Euro investment from the Ministry of Tourism, Trade and Sports in an attempt to boost tourism in the region.
Marbella is considered to be the Costa del Sol’s tourism centre with thousands of tourists holidaying in the town throughout the year. The Ministry believe that the investment in Marbella will benefit the entire Costa del Sol coastline.
The Costa del Sol has seen a drop in visitor numbers during 2009, but still remains one of the most popular holiday destinations for Brits and other European tourists.
Other cities that have also received similar funding are Jaen, Jerez, Granada, Sevilla and Malaga – the Costa del Sol capital.
