Marbella developer starts hunger strike
Hunger strike the last option for Marbella developer
Costa del Sol based developer Juan Carlos Carrasco Heredia has started a hunger strike outside the Marbella Town Hall claiming his is owned €1.5 million from the town’s previous government.
Heredia told the El Mundo newspaper that he had been ruined by the GIL party for building contracts awarded by the councils led by Julián Muñoz and Marisol Yagüe, the former Mayors of Marbella who are both involved in Marbella’s Malaya corruption case.
Heredia claims the money is owed in exchange for public work carried out to the value of €1.5 million. However Marbella’s current head of taxes, Carlos Rubio, states that government records show that no money is owed.
Heredia says the situation has led him to the edge of ruin and feels the only way left open to him was to start a hunger strike.
