Malaga Hotels see slump in trade
Travel experts claim there has been a recent slow down in the take up of reservations in hotels in the Málaga region. This flies in the face of recent reports suggesting an increase in trading in the Costa del Sol area in general. Reports suggest that there has been the lowest number of reservations made for Málaga hotels at the start of this summer season compared to recent years.
The Andalucian Business Confederation report a failure in their ‘pre – season’ offers and warn that future times might be ‘the most chaotic’ that the Costa del Sol region has witnessed - ‘Even planning for next weekend is proving difficult’. Of all hotel classes four star hotels appear to be most resistant to the fall in trade thanks to price cuts of around 10% and the fact that they remain the most common type of hotel to book.
It would also appear, according to La Opinion de Málaga that foreign travellers or the lack of them and fiscal problems are the main concern for the Costa del Sol however things are apparently improving from the Spanish domestic holiday markets.
