Malaga Airport Showing Promising Results
Good news for Malaga Airport
During the recently concluded “Fitur International Tourism Fair,” Madrid, Ana Gomez, head of the Costa del Sol Tourism Board spoke about the soon-to-be-opened new Malaga Airport terminal that will allow airlines to operate on several new routes. She added that the agreement with Air Transat shall also be renewed as it has proved beneficial due to the influx of Canadian tourists to the Costa by 40%.
Malaga Airport has been very successful as within 2 short years 39 new routes have been opened so far and Transat is just one of many airlines that offer direct flights between Malaga-Toronto as well as Montreal. Furthermore, Aer Lingus, an Irish airline is increasing the number of destinations one can fly in from to the Costa del Sol by almost 12 percent. The company has 3 daily flights from Gatwick, Belfast, Cork and Dublin to Malaga Airport.
Fortunately, the economic crisis did little to dim the glitter of the Malaga Airport and some of the most wanted flights have been long distance like the flight from New York to Malaga by Delta Airlines that witnessed American holidaymakers rise by almost 7 percent.
