Dynamic packaging holiday sales buoyant
Dynamic holiday sales 'buoyant'
Sales of dynamic packaged holidays remained high throughout the summer period this year according to the online travel agent You Travel suggesting that holidaymakers are starting to favour the option of creating their own holiday rather than choosing a package holiday.
Sales volumes for June, July and August were up 12% when compared to 2008 although fluctuations in currency meant that revenue levels remained level.
With economic uncertainty very much on the minds of would be holidaymakers in the first quarter of the year many chose to wait until later on to book their break. Majorca and Sharm el-Sheikh were the top selling destinations on You Travel and although sales for winter holidays are currently down compared to 2008 the company predicts that late bookings for low budget destinations such as Tunisia will help to boost sales.
The option of dynamic packaged holidays allows travelers to book their holiday using a variety of options through a single sales channel. Flights, accommodation and transfers or car hire can be booked separately giving customers the option to select exactly what they want.
