Condemned Marbella Holiday Apartments For Sale
Condemned Marbella Holiday Apartments Still Advertised
Holiday apartments in Marbella that were built illegally are still being advertised for sale online the Guardian Online has revealed. Properties for sale in Marbella’s Banana Beach resort are being listed on a Costa del Sol property website despite the fact that the local government has condemned the properties which will be demolished next year.
The future of many developments on the Costa del Sol has been in question for years after invalid planning permission was given by the previous Marbella government. However the uncertainty was put to rest by the new mayor of Marbella Angeles Muñoz who has agreed to issue retrospective planning permission to many of the ‘illegally’ built holiday villas and apartments.
Three developments were not given retrospective planning permission including the Banana Beach resort. The news of the pending demolition is bad news for Brits who purchased holiday homes in the area under the impression that the development was legal.
The new major of Marbella planned to legalise all of the illegal developments, however local government and national government prevented this in the case of Banana Beach as the apartments are situated within 100 meters of the sea.
It appears that the website advertising the soon to be demolished holiday homes as for sale may well be no longer be actively updated.
