Appeal set for Marbella Town Plan
Legally built home owners set to appeal
A group of around 3,000 property owners in the Marbella region are expected to instruct legal teams to appeal against the newly proposed town plan if it is approved before the end of this year.
The new Marbella town plan proposes to legalise 17,000 illegally built holiday homes in the popular Spanish holiday resort. Those who are likely to protest are believed to be owners of legally build properties in the area. However despite the threat there is a strong believe that the homes will be legalised.
If the government rejects the plans thousands of home owners will face having apartments and villas removed demolished after being built with invalid planning permission.
The Andalucía High Court recently over-ruled the Marbella Town Hall order to suspend the demolition of actor Antonio Banderas luxurious home in Marbella’s Los Monteros until the new PGOU comes into effect. The house would have been made legal under the new urban plan.
