Airlines send Journalists to Malaga and Marbella
Trips set up to boost Costa del Sol winter holidays
Two groups of journalist have been invited to the Costa del Sol this weekend to enjoy the delights of Malaga and Marbella in an attempt to boost winter sun sales for two of Britain’s largest budget airlines.
One group of journalists from a variety of publications such as the Daily Mirror and the Daily Star have visited Malaga as part of a trip organised by Monarch Airlines and the City Hall Tourism Department. Malaga is one of the most popular summer destinations however, like many popular European holiday destinations, summer visitor numbers were lower than in previous years as a result of the recession. Therefore the trip has been set up to encourage positive press coverage for Malaga as a winter sun city break destination.
Another group of journalist have been invited to Malaga and Marbella by budget airline BMI Baby and hotel group H10 hotels. The trip is has also been set up as an attempt to boost winter sales for Malaga and Marbella, two of the Costa del Sol’s most popular tourist regions.
